A POSITIVE POSITIONED PROGRAM

Every once in a while I find myself discussing the future of the Oregon Ducks football program with someone. Whether it’s with my parents, my duck fan friends or my beaver fan friends, or even myself. I can’t help to wonder, what is next for the Ducks?

First thing’s first, how will the Ducks finish this season? It only feels like a century since the last duck game. I don’t know if that’s because I attended every single home game this season as a student, or if it actually has been a long break, but it’s becoming too long of a break for me.

Thank goodness Nike unveiled some new uniforms today, because I was just about to hit a peak of silent media attention buzzing around Oregon Ducks football, which if you didn’t know, it is never a good thing to have no new stories about the Ducks football program. But back to the uniforms, I am very curious to see what they will look like in that nice California sun. Because to be honest, it was kind of difficult to see all the little details from that photo shoot. But I’m not sure if it was just me, but that photo unveiling seemed so dark, and I’m pretty sure the jerseys won’t be that dark. However the design does look very unique and AWESOME! It may be the first jersey I ever buy. However knowing my luck with jerseys, it probably won’t be happening.

It’s almost 2012, which means the Rose Bowl is close, which is very comforting. I finally expect good things from the Ducks this coming Monday and truly believe this will be the game. This will be the game that gets the Oregon football program running towards years of success.

As long as our good friend Chip Kelly hangs around long enough to teach the young coaches his wise coaching scheme, and continue to bring in top talent from big states, I expect the Ducks to continue and advance. With BCS bowl appearances the last three straight years, it seem’s almost like the Ducks finally got a grasp of how to be the team to beat. It can be called the conquering of the west, the top of the “PAC,” or even the fastest team in the nation. Whatever the description is, I can surely say it won’t be anything other than positive.
